Following in the footsteps of its sister creations, Teatro Italian Food and Wine also offers a creative extensive cocktail menu. A glass case outlining the entryway of the restaurant holds over 100 bottles of hand-selected wines to pair with meals. Guests can even watch their pasta being handmade through the open kitchen windows. The restaurant boasts an extensive multi-course dining menu including freshly baked bread, potato gnocchi, lamb ragu, sauteéd swordfish, filet mignon, and a creative take on Tiramisu. Kevin Heinonen, CEO of THAT Place Projects shares "Our hope is that Teatro is this ever-evolving relationship that you'll have with a restaurant and experience that you'll have as a guest." With his experience and training, Chef Art brings a new authentic fine dining experience to Downtown Flagstaff. The kitchen is led by Chef Art Bagdasaryan who studied under the three Michelin star decorated chef Alain Ducasse. This name embraces the building's history of originally being a theater. The name Teatro (te-à-tro), is the Italian word for theater. Located in the heart of Downtown Flagstaff at 16 North San Francisco St., Teatro Italian Food & Wine brings the spirit and flavors of Northern Italy. Enjoy elevated Italian cuisine for lunch or dinner! Teatro Italian Food & Wine is now open in Downtown Flagstaff! This is the newest concept from THAT Place Projects, the developers behind ' Tinderbox Kitchen', ' Annex Cocktail Lounge' and ' Tourist Home Café'. The dessert I shared with my girlfriend was peach flambe if I remember right? It may have been good, however there was knife contamination with the cut fruit and some garlic/onion so no it wasn't.Teatro Italian Food & Wine: Downtown Flagstaff's Newest Restaurant In a small restaurant where guests can see the food get put up, it's a shame to watch it sit there and get cold! Chicken leg main was overdone but hot, trout were warm, duck breast was cold, and sirloin was not only cold but the dish couldn't have been plated more basically! 4 potato wedges pan fried, sliced beef, and barely a drop of sauce! We didn't say anything about the food (temperatures) since this was a celebratory dinner/special occasion and we didn't want to ruin the good moment. I said politely said "Excuse Me" to ask for a bit more bread to finish the board and a server turned around and said "what"!! Wow, that was shocking! We moved on and were looking forward to our entrees, until I saw how long they were sitting in the kitchen window from my vantage point. The restaurant wasn't very busy maybe two other tables, but consistently our drinks were dying at the bar as we could see them right in front of us. Charcuterie board had solid ingredients, but very stingy with the bread/accompaniments for 6 PAX at the table. Annex = good service, cocktails, scene. After to the T-Box to dine and we ordered a fresh round of drinks, charcuterie board, and a couple of starters. The night started out wonderfully in the bustling Annex with a couple of cocktails waiting for the group to arrive. So, good place, fun and unusual menu items but maybe a little variable on the preparation skills? I’m only going to give it 2.5 stars (out of five) for this visit, but will definitely try again on future trips to the area. I don’t know why she didn’t say something but that happens sometimes. It turned out that her request for a medium-well steak had arrived extremely rare in the middle so she just worked away on the edges. Because I was enjoying my dinner, I didn’t notice my dinner companion wasn’t attacking her steak. My pork tenderloin was perfectly cooked, tender and wonderfully aromatic. Dinner arrived in the appropriate amount of time. While I enjoyed most of the provided greens, I’m not sure if I can recommend the marinated beets, they just didn’t seem to work for me in this situation, maybe just a personal-preference thing. Maybe because it wasn’t very busy, she took the time to talk with us a little. Another return visit for me and another enjoyable, if not perfect dinner.
